
Dudhnoi, March 2: A joint meeting organised by the All Rabha Students’ Union (ARSU) Central Committee was held at its central office in Dudhnoi on March 2, bringing together leaders and representatives from the districts of Kamrup and Goalpara to deliberate on issues related to the upcoming Assembly elections.
The meeting was presided over by Tankeswar Rabha, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC). In his opening remarks, he explained the agenda of the meeting and emphasised the need for discussions and collective understanding regarding the political developments ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The deliberations mainly focused on the three Assembly constituencies that fall under the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council area — East Goalpara constituency, Boko Chaygaon constituency (29 Boko Chaygaon), and Dudhnoi constituency. Leaders and representatives present at the meeting discussed the prevailing political situation in these constituencies and highlighted the importance of unity, awareness, and responsible participation of the people in the democratic process.
Representatives of the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU) from Kamrup and Goalpara districts also attended the meeting. Among those present were AAGSU Central Committee Vice Presidents Rohit Lamshal and Ram Shrestha, Central Office Secretary Bikash Sharma, AAGSU Goalpara District President Binod Lamshal, AAGSU Kamrup District General Secretary Amar Sunar, and Lampi Anchalik Committee President Subhash Lama.
Speaking on behalf of AAGSU, Rohit Lamshal expressed gratitude to the CEM of RHAC for his continuous efforts to bring together all the communities residing within the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council area. He appreciated the initiatives taken to maintain unity and harmony in the region and stated that AAGSU would always extend its support to such efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation among communities.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Subhash Rabha, who thanked all the leaders, representatives, and participants for attending the meeting and contributing to the discussions. He also acknowledged the cooperation and commitment of various organisations and community leaders working towards the unity and development of the Rabha Hasong region.
