Mahur, 06 September 2026: The 2nd Extended Executive Meeting of the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Dima Hasao District Committee, was successfully convened at the Gorkha Guest House, Jangli Bosti, Mahur, under the chairmanship of Shri Uttam Gharti, President, AAGSU Dima Hasao District Committee.
The meeting brought together members of the District Committee to deliberate on important organizational matters, upcoming programmes, future initiatives and strategies for further strengthening the organization in Dima Hasao. The members emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, coordination, mutual cooperation and collective responsibility for the effective functioning and continued growth of AAGSU.
Following due deliberation, Shri Probin Joishi was inducted as Vice President, Shri Rajat Kr. Jogi as Secretary and Shri Sagar Gurung as Executive Member of the AAGSU Dima Hasao District Committee.
The meeting also appointed Shri Suresh Blon of Umrangso, Shri Govinda Sunar of Mahur and Shri Sidharth Pandey of Haflong as Advisers to the District Committee. The appointments were welcomed by the members, who expressed confidence that their experience, guidance and organizational support would contribute to further strengthening the committee.
Various upcoming programmes, organizational activities and future initiatives aimed at promoting the interests and welfare of the Gorkha student and youth community in Dima Hasao were also discussed. The members reaffirmed their commitment to working with greater coordination and dedication while upholding the principles, objectives and discipline of AAGSU.
The meeting concluded on a positive and constructive note with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Bevakananda Joishi, General Secretary, AAGSU Dima Hasao District Committee. The members collectively reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening AAGSU at the district level and working towards the welfare, development, unity and empowerment of the Gorkha student and youth community of Dima Hasao.
