On 17 May 2026, with a vision to strengthen student unity and further the cause of educational and social upliftment, the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Dibrugarh University Unit successfully constituted its new committee in a grand and democratic manner.
In the newly formed committee, Rudra Chetry was unanimously elected as the President, while Sanju Chetry was elected as the General Secretary for the upcoming tenure. A strong, dynamic, and committed team has been formed with the collective aspiration of working tirelessly for the welfare, empowerment, and upliftment of the student community.
The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of AAGSU Dibrugarh District President Ratna Thapa and District Secretary Suraj Chetry. Also present were distinguished central representatives of AAGSU, including Assistant General Secretary Ajay Kumar Aley, Organising Secretary Deepak Newar, and Assistant Education Secretary Bhojraj Sharma, whose inspiring presence added significance to the programme.
The event also witnessed the gracious presence of office bearers from the AAGSU Dibrugarh District Committee, namely Vice President Rohit Bhujel, Organising Secretary Suraj Newar, Education Secretary Krishna Bhujel, Assistant Education Secretary Krishna Bhujel, Sports Secretary Bishnu Newar, IT Secretary Ayush Sharma, Chief Volunteer Bijoy Thapa, and Executive Member Aditya Lama. Furthermore, respected office bearers of the Dibrugarh District Gorkha Nari Committee also graced the occasion and extended their support and encouragement.
The formation of this strong and dedicated committee reflects a renewed commitment towards safeguarding student interests, promoting unity, and advancing the collective aspirations of the Gorkha student community. We firmly believe that under the capable leadership of the newly elected team, the DUAAGSU will scale greater heights, achieve remarkable milestones, and continue to work with dedication and integrity for the betterment of students.
