Mahur, 15 August 2026: The All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Mahur Regional Committee, proudly participated in the 80th Independence Day celebration held on 15 August 2026 at Ringphai Langthasa Playground, Mahur, Dima Hasao, Assam.

As part of the celebration, members of the AAGSU Mahur Regional Committee presented a traditional Khukuri Dance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage, bravery, unity, and traditions of the Gorkha community. The performance reflected the community’s deep-rooted cultural identity while adding a distinctive traditional touch to the national celebration.

The Khukuri Dance also conveyed a message of patriotism, cultural pride, and respect for the nation. Through their participation, the Mahur Regional Committee reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and promoting Gorkha cultural traditions, particularly among the younger generation.

The celebration provided an opportunity to bring together the spirit of national independence and the cultural diversity of the region. The participation of AAGSU Mahur Regional Committee highlighted the importance of preserving traditional heritage while strengthening the values of unity, harmony, and national integration.

The programme concluded successfully with a strong message of unity, patriotism, cultural pride, and national harmony.
