
Boko, May 13: A sense of relief has spread across the Lampi area along the AssamтАУMeghalaya border in Kamrup district after a missing minor girl was successfully traced and rescued through the prompt efforts of the police administration and the cooperation of local organizations.
According to official sources, the girl, around 12 years of age, had reportedly gone missing under unclear circumstances from the Lampi border area, creating anxiety among her family members and local residents. Soon after receiving information about the incident, the Officer-in-Charge of Lampi Border Outpost, Jini Saikia, immediately initiated a search operation and activated all possible channels to locate the missing child.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the case was promptly brought to the attention of the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Kamrup district, Kalyan Pathak. Under his supervision, police teams intensified the investigation and conducted a systematic search operation across various locations. Due to the swift coordination and timely response of the police department, the minor girl was traced and rescued safely within a short period of time.
Following her recovery, the girl was taken to the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for medical examination and other necessary legal procedures as per standard protocol. Police officials stated that all required measures were taken to ensure her safety and well-being while efforts are ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
The search operation also received active support from the District Committee of the All Assam Gorkha StudentsтАЩ Union (AAGSU), Kamrup district. Members of the organization extended their cooperation by assisting the authorities and spreading awareness within the local community during the search process. Their involvement alongside the police has been widely appreciated by local residents.
The successful rescue operation has once again highlighted the importance of timely police intervention and community cooperation in dealing with cases involving minors. Residents of the area have expressed gratitude to the police administration for their immediate response and dedication in ensuring the safe recovery of the girl.
Meanwhile, police authorities have urged the public to report such incidents without delay so that immediate action can be taken in sensitive cases involving children and minors. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
