Dibrugarh, 6 September: The All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Dibrugarh University Unit successfully organized “Navaspandan 1: New Introductions, New Connections, New Journey” on 6 September 2026 at Blossom Exotica, Dibrugarh.

The programme was organized as a warm welcome and get-together for the newly admitted Gorkha students of Dibrugarh University. The initiative aimed to provide the new students with an opportunity to introduce themselves, build new friendships, strengthen unity, and connect with the rich culture, traditions and identity of the Gorkha community.

The programme was graced by esteemed guests and representatives from the AAGSU Central Committee, AAGSU Dibrugarh District Committee, AAGSU Tinsukia District Committee and AAGSU Jorhat District Committee. Representatives and members from various AAGSU Regional Committees under Dibrugarh District also attended the programme.

A special felicitation ceremony was organized to honour the newly appointed members of the AAGSU Central Committee. Among those felicitated were Bhojraj Sharma, newly appointed Education Secretary, and Santosh Limbu, newly appointed Sports Secretary, along with other newly appointed members of the Central Committee.

More than just a welcome gathering, Navaspandan 1 became a celebration of unity, culture, belonging and the spirit of the Gorkha community. The programme provided a meaningful platform for new students to connect with one another, interact with seniors and organizational representatives, and begin their university journey with a strong sense of community and cultural identity.

The programme concluded in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of togetherness and mutual cooperation. The event also strengthened the bond between the students and the organization while encouraging the younger generation to remain connected with their culture, heritage and community.
