Tengakhat, 24 May 2026: The All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Tengakhat Regional Committee, in collaboration with the Tengakhat Regional Gorkha Nari Parishad, successfully organised a Special Felicitation Programme to honour meritorious students who achieved outstanding results in the HSLC and HSSLC Examinations 2026. The programme was held in a warm and inspiring atmosphere with the participation of students, guardians, teachers, social workers, and prominent members of the society.
The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Kamal Sharma, President of the AAGSU Tengakhat Regional Committee. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of education in shaping society and encouraged the students to remain dedicated, disciplined, and determined in their academic journey. He stated that the achievements of the students have brought pride not only to their families but also to the entire Gorkha community of the region. He further urged the younger generation to continue striving towards excellence and contribute positively to society and the nation.
The felicitation programme was attended by several office bearers from the AAGSU Dibrugarh District Committee, whose presence added significance to the occasion. Among those present were Mr. Suraj Chetry, Interim Secretary of the district committee, Mr. Kul Bahadur Newar, Vice President, Mr. Probin Chetry, Organising Secretary, Mr. Bharat Newar, Publicity Secretary, Mr. Krishna Bhujel, Education Secretary, Mr. Manish Thapa, Mouthpiece Secretary, Mr. Ayush Sharma, IT Secretary, and Mr. Amir Thapa, Executive Member.
Addressing the gathering, the district committee representatives appreciated the efforts of the students and their guardians in achieving academic success. They also praised the initiative taken by the Tengakhat Regional Committee and the Tengakhat Regional Gorkha Nari Parishad in recognising and encouraging young talents through such meaningful programmes. Speakers at the event emphasised that education remains one of the strongest tools for empowerment and social progress, and programmes of this nature help inspire students to aim higher in life.
The event also witnessed the esteemed presence of teachers, social workers, distinguished personalities, and active members of the Tengakhat region, who extended their blessings and words of encouragement to the students. The meritorious students were felicitated with certificates, traditional tokens of appreciation, and best wishes for their future academic and professional pursuits.
As part of its yearly commitment towards educational encouragement and student welfare, the AAGSU Tengakhat Regional Committee has been consistently organising such felicitation programmes every year.
