GUWAHATI: In a commendable effort to facilitate a smooth, transparent, and welcoming admission process for incoming students, a dedicated ‘Gorkha Students Helpdesk’ has been officially launched at B. Borooah College. Aimed at aspirants seeking entry into the Higher Secondary streamsтАФencompassing Arts, Science, and Commerce As well as Under graduate course BA,BBA,BSC etc тАФfor the upcoming 2026-2027 academic session, the helpdesk promises to serve as a vital gateway to academic excellence at one of the regionтАЩs premier educational institutions.
Recognizing the complexities that often accompany online college admissions, this student-led initiative has pledged comprehensive support to both applicants and their parents. The primary objective is to alleviate the stress of the digital transition by offering step-by-step guidance for navigating the mandatory Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) DARPAN portal, as well as the SAMARTH portal. By providing hands-on assistance, the student committee aims to ensure that technical bottlenecks do not hinder any deserving student’s academic journey.
The helpdesk offers a wide array of critical services tailored to meet the diverse needs of the applicants. Dedicated team members will assist with document verification processes, offering much-needed clarity on the strict requirements for essential paperwork, including marksheets, caste certificates, and gap certificates. Furthermore, the desk will act as a centralized information hub for merit list inquiries, keeping students continuously updated on cutoff marks, selection criteria, and waiting list movements. The team is also equipped to provide real-time technical troubleshooting for common online errors, such as fee payment failures and form submission glitches, while simultaneously addressing crucial queries regarding state fee waiver schemes.
To streamline the consultation process and minimize unnecessary delays, the helpdesk committee has outlined a quick prerequisite checklist for all prospective applicants. Before visiting the helpdesk in person or reaching out via phone, students are strongly advised to have their Unique ID/Registration Number, HSLC Marksheet and Admit Card, relevant Caste Certificate (if applicable), and the active mobile number and email ID used during initial registration readily accessible. General admission updates will also continue to be available on the college’s official website (www.bborooahcollege.ac.in).
Spearheading this welfare initiative is a robust team of student representatives who have made themselves directly accessible for queries via phone calls and personal messages. The core leadership driving the helpdesk includes President Kiran Dangal (970763034), Vice President Nilay Upadhyay (9864341879), and General Secretary Anuj Thapa (9954361076).
They are extensively supported by a network of executives, including Assistant General Secretaries Bipul Chetri (8453878096), Nilam Sharma (6901611914), and Bijoy Dahal (9395532644), alongside BBCSU Assistant General Secretary Akshita Sharma (6003739083).
