Dima Hasao, October 2026: The Dima Hasao Students’ Organisations Coordination Committee (DHSOCC) held a meeting with Hon’ble Minister Shri Pijush Hazarika to discuss various grievances, pressing concerns and long-standing issues faced by the people of Dima Hasao. During the meeting, the committee submitted a memorandum highlighting the issues and urged the concerned authorities to take appropriate measures for their resolution.

Representing the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Dima Hasao District Committee, Uttam Gharti, President; Bishal Sharma, Vice-President; and Rohit Joishi, Sports Secretary, participated in the meeting as members of the joint platform of student organisations.

On the occasion, the AAGSU representatives felicitated Hon’ble Minister Shri Pijush Hazarika by presenting him with a traditional Dhaka Topi and Gorkhali Khada as a mark of respect and honour. The gesture reflected the rich cultural heritage, traditions and identity of the Gorkha community.

The meeting highlighted the importance of collective efforts and coordination among student organisations in raising public concerns and advocating for the welfare and development of Dima Hasao. The participation of AAGSU reaffirmed its commitment to representing the interests of the Gorkha community and contributing to the overall progress and well-being of the district.

The meeting concluded with a collective appeal for appropriate government intervention to address the long-standing issues and genuine concerns of the people of Dima Hasao through the united platform of student organisations.
