Mahur, 30 June : The inauguration ceremony of the Gorkha Guest House, Mahur was successfully held on 30 June 2026 at the Gorkha Guest House premises, Mahur. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Prem Tamang, Chairman, Gorkha Development Council (GDC).

The event witnessed the gracious presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Ram Dahal, Vice Chairman, GDC; Shri Ram Tamang, President, OBC Morcha, Dima Hasao District Committee; Smt. Probita Jahari, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC); Shri Babul Kemprai, Chairman, Mahur Municipal Board; Shri Mon Bahadur Tamang, Vice Chairman, Mahur Municipal Board; Shri Uttam Gharti, President, All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU); Shri Bhim Bahadur Chetri, President, Assam Gorkha Sammelan (AGS); and Shri Sanjib Khadka, Member, Gorkha Development Council (GDC). The programme was also attended by public representatives, community leaders, invited guests, and a large number of local residents.

During the programme, the dignitaries addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the Gorkha Guest House as an important community asset. They appreciated the collective efforts made towards its establishment and expressed hope that the facility would serve the needs of the Gorkha community as well as visitors to Mahur for many years to come. They further emphasized that the Guest House would strengthen community unity, promote social and cultural activities, and serve as a valuable centre for future generations.

The programme concluded successfully with the wholehearted support and active participation of all the distinguished guests, invited members, and attendees. The inauguration of the Gorkha Guest House marks a significant milestone in strengthening community infrastructure and reflects the spirit of unity, cooperation, and development among the Gorkha community of Mahur.
