Shradhanjali Programme in Memory of Late Prashanth Tamang at Rajapara Gorkha Bhawan

A solemn and dignified Shradhanjali programme in memory of Late Prashanth Tamang was respectfully organised by the All Assam Gorkha StudentsтАЩ Union (AAGSU), Kamrup District Committee on 14th January 2026 at 6:00 PM at Rajapara Gorkha Bhawan. The programme was conducted to pay heartfelt tribute and to express deep condolences on the untimely demise of Late Prashanth Tamang, whose life and contributions left a lasting impact on the Gorkha community.
The programme was held in the esteemed presence of Shri Gobinda Sharma, President of AAGSU Kamrup District, Shri Amar Sunar, General Secretary, Shri Pankaj Nirola, Vice President, and Shri Biju Chetry, Organising Secretary, along with other respected members and office bearers of the district committee. Their presence reflected the collective grief and solidarity of the organisation during this moment of loss.
The Shradhanjali programme was presided over by Shri Amar Sunar, General Secretary of AAGSU Kamrup District, who conducted the proceedings with dignity and solemnity. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of lamps by Shri Gobinda Sharma, President of AAGSU Kamrup District, symbolising peace, hope, and prayers for the eternal rest of the departed soul. This was followed by a moment of silence, during which all present offered their prayers for the eternal peace of Late Prashanth Tamang and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
During the programme, speakers spoke about the life, values, and contributions of Late Prashanth Tamang, remembering him as a humble, dedicated, and inspiring individual. They highlighted how his journey and work brought pride to the Gorkha society and how his memories would continue to live on in the hearts of the people. The speakers also expressed that his passing was not only a personal loss to his family but a great loss to the entire community.
Shri Gobinda Sharma, President of AAGSU Kamrup District, in his address, expressed deep sorrow over the demise and stated that Late Prashanth TamangтАЩs legacy would continue to inspire future generations. Shri Amar Sunar, General Secretary, also shared his thoughts, emphasising unity, compassion, and the importance of remembering the contributions of those who dedicate their lives to society.
The participation of Shri Pankaj Nirola, Vice President, Shri Biju Chetry, Organising Secretary, and other members of AAGSU Kamrup District added strength and solidarity to the programme. Their collective presence demonstrated the organisationтАЩs commitment to standing together in times of grief and honouring the memories of those who have contributed to the community.
The Shradhanjali programme concluded in a calm and respectful atmosphere with prayers for the eternal peace of Late Prashanth TamangтАЩs soul. The event reaffirmed the unity of the All Assam Gorkha StudentsтАЩ Union (AAGSU), Kamrup District Committee and served as a meaningful tribute to a departed soul who will always be remembered with respect and reverence.
