Karbi Anglong, 01 August: The All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Karbi Anglong District Committee participated in a felicitation programme organised at Karagaon Rai Basti to honour Retired Subedar Jogendra Rai (Army No. JC 551609H) of the 8th Battalion, The Assam Regiment, in recognition of his 28 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the Nation.
The programme was organised through the Office of the Gaon Bura (GB), where a Certificate of Honour was presented to the retired Army personnel as a mark of appreciation for his exemplary contribution in safeguarding the sovereignty and security of the Republic of India.
Representing the AAGSU тАУ Karbi Anglong District Committee, Ajit Sampang Rai, Subash Yakkha, and Ankit Rai attended the ceremony and conveyed the organisation’s heartfelt respect and gratitude to Mr. Jogendra Rai for his unwavering patriotism, discipline, sacrifice, and selfless service. The committee stated that his remarkable military career serves as a source of inspiration for the Gorkha community, particularly the younger generation, encouraging them to uphold the ideals of courage, dedication, and national service.
AAGSU also congratulated Retired Subedar Jogendra Rai on his honourable retirement and wished him good health, happiness, and a peaceful life with his family. Reaffirming its commitment to honouring Gorkha veterans, the organisation stated that recognising such distinguished personalities is essential to preserving their legacy and inspiring future generations to serve the Nation with pride and dedication.
