Bongaigaon, 4 July 2026: The Bongaigaon District Committee of the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU) paid a courtesy visit to Shri Lakhinandan Saharia, ACS, District Commissioner of Bongaigaon, on 4 July 2026. As a mark of respect and appreciation, the delegation felicitated the District Commissioner and extended their heartfelt congratulations on his responsibility as the head of the district administration.
The meeting was held in a warm, cordial, and constructive atmosphere. During the interaction, the AAGSU delegation engaged in a meaningful discussion with the District Commissioner on various issues concerning the Gorkha community as well as the overall development of Bongaigaon district.
The delegation highlighted several important matters, including the promotion of quality education, youth empowerment, skill development, employment opportunities, public awareness, social welfare, community development, and the effective implementation of government welfare schemes. They also discussed the need for greater cooperation between civil society organizations and the district administration in addressing public concerns and promoting inclusive development.
The representatives reaffirmed AAGSU’s commitment to serving the Gorkha community through constructive initiatives while working in close coordination with the district administration for the welfare and progress of all sections of society. They emphasized that the organization has consistently been engaged in educational, social, and community-oriented activities and expressed its willingness to extend full cooperation in developmental and public welfare programmes across the district.
Shri Lakhinandan Saharia, ACS, attentively listened to the concerns and suggestions presented by the delegation and appreciated the constructive role played by AAGSU in society. He assured the members that the district administration remains open to dialogue and would extend all possible support to genuine public welfare initiatives undertaken in the interest of the people. He further emphasized that effective coordination between the administration and responsible social organizations is essential for ensuring inclusive and sustainable development.
The Bongaigaon District Committee of AAGSU expressed its sincere gratitude to the District Commissioner for granting them valuable time despite his busy schedule and for his encouraging and positive response.
