AAGSU, ABSU and ASSA Demand Immediate Filling of Vacant Teaching Posts.
Shantipur, 24 August 2026: All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Sungava Anchalik Committee, in association with All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Chirang District Committee, and All Santali Students’ Association (ASSA), Chirang District Committee, has strongly protested against the persistent shortage of teachers at Shantipur High School and the deployment of existing teaching personnel for census-related duties.
The three student organisations have expressed serious concern that the prolonged shortage of teaching staff is adversely affecting the functioning of the institution and the academic progress of students.
The organisations jointly demand the immediate assessment of the school’s staffing requirements, filling of all vacant teaching posts, and a review of the deployment of teachers for non-academic duties in schools already facing an acute shortage.
They further warned that if the Government and concerned authorities fail to take timely and substantive action, the organisations will continue their democratic and constitutionally permissible course of action until the legitimate educational demands of the students are addressed.
