Diphu, 26 July 2026: The All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU), Karbi Anglong District Committee successfully constituted the new Diphu Regional Committee on 26 July 2026 through a democratic committee formation meeting held under the supervision of the District Committee’s official observers.

The committee formation process was conducted in the presence of District Committee representatives Sanju Gorkha Chhetry (Observer), Ajit Sampang Rai, Ankit Rai, and Subash Yakkha, ensuring a transparent and transparent election process.

Following the election, the members unanimously elected Mr. Sunil Chetry as President and Mr. Bishal Chetry as General Secretary of the newly formed Diphu Regional Committee.

The newly constituted committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the organization at the grassroots level while working for the educational, social, and cultural advancement of Gorkha students and the wider Gorkha community in the Diphu region. The committee is expected to actively promote the vision and objectives of the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU) through dedicated organizational activities and community service.

On behalf of the AAGSU Karbi Anglong District Committee, heartfelt congratulations were extended to the newly elected office bearers and all members of the Diphu Regional Committee. The District Committee expressed confidence that the new leadership would work with dedication, unity, and integrity to further strengthen the organization and effectively serve the interests of the Gorkha student community.
